Somehow I like most when in the begining of the show band starts to play and then Mark shows up to the stage and starts playing, like in songs Calling Elvis and Why Aye Man. However, every song as a opening song has been good and worked as a starter (except Broken Bones, which did not work like it was supposed to).

I like that too. They can do it with pretty much any song though, it's just a matter of rearranging the intro if that's the case. Not Broken Bones, I agree lol

Eventhough Mark is almost everything os DS we can see huge differences between DS openings and MK ones.
Let alone Mark is older.
Alan Clark, John and the other staff from DS played better than nowadays Mark's band.

I don't agree at all. Glenn is far superior to John in terms of bass playing, the guy is a genius. Alan may be better than Jim, Guy and even Matt when it comes to DS stuff but he wouldn't suit Mark's current vibe.

In fact many people in the music industry claim Mark's band is the best one in the business. In my opinion Guy is the only one that may not blend in with the other blokes - and I don't say that because of his forum, just to make it clear  :lol :lol :lol

I agree with you on that one, I miss that energy and enthusiasm as well. But Mark's older now, that's the way it is  :-[

My vote is for Border Reiver. Most powerful opener during the solo career. In 2010 some shows had BR-WAM-WII. What a powerful celtic punch to the gut!

Or Cannibals. But only because I have a soft spot for cajun music.  :)

DP is surely more powerful than BR, no?  That thick, distorted LP packs more punch than some whistles!

Valid point of course, but it's the tempo in BR I like and meant by powerful. It's like a locomotive. :)

I loved What It Is.  Sadly, I never saw/heard Border Reiver or Why Aye Man.   :'(

Loved them all across the decades but my DS favorite is Once Upon A Time. For MK solo period I pick Border Reiver. However, LAJADAS would be a clear winner had MK decided to go with it on the last tour. When I first heard Tracker I immediately thought this would be the perfect concert opener. It has all necessary ingredients: a quiet drum /bass intro with a few teasing tasty guitar licks that could be played from behind the curtain (or still in the blackout) and then all the band joins in for the grand opening. Good tempo, not too quick not too slow, nice opportunities to show off and improvise, could go on forever like RATR or Calling Elvis did in the past. I don't know why they didn't go with it. It was a no-brainer. Lost opportunity. Unless they open with it on the next tour, that is.
...Well, he's a big star now but I've been a fan of his for years. The way he sings and plays guitar still bring me to tears...

Maybe some Spanish town I don’t know or a Mexican drink?

I got it in the end though  :lol

Right after the Tracker release I (almost) don't think I've ever seen so many members here and other fans in general agreeing and uniting on something so strongly.

That is to say, how perfect LAJADAS would be as an opener.
