Apart of following the games of the team I support, Atletico Madrid, I'm totally disconnected about any other football games, is a surprise to me that The Netherlands are not playing the world cup. I didn't know about it.

Despite losing to Mexico I still think Germany will take it again.

It is disappointing not to see teams such as The Netherlands and Italy there, especially when there is such an abundance of scrap in there, especially from the Middle East, just making up the numbers.  Nobody can tell me they have better teams.  I was watching Egypt last night and they were playing a 2-3-5 pyramid formation.  ;D

Do you know why Atlético players and supporters are calling like that?

Yes, mattresses in red and white. A Barcelona fan told me the story many years ago.

Yes, they are repeating the Eurocup strategy. Bore to death anyone and trust someone (like Cristina) scores.

Spain national team still has that boring as hell way of playing - possession without progression (like a guitar player strumming the very same chord or scale all the way through).
And the older they get, more boring they play. It seems they're only waiting for a goal scored by a knee or butt of Iniesta, Isca or Diega...
And actually this evening, and by some fluke, a group of young lads from Iran didn't beat them. Lucky Spain.
As for the rest, I believe the biggest contenders still are Germany, Portugal and Brazil. So let's see...
Cheers

I'm not sure about Portugal, Ronaldo is 90% of the team. Spain has become boring to watch but they're tough to beat, I wouldn't count them out. Germany is very strong, I don't see them out of the semis. Belgium has a hell of a team and Argentina has Messi, keep an eye on both.

As for Brazil, we probably have the best team but Neymar is a hopeless spoiled brat who thinks the entire country revolves around him and his haircut. If the coach and the other players don't clip his wings we're screwed.

I suppose Ronaldo has been 90% of the team so far... But, they have been playing only with 2 or 3 players to pass the groups' stage.
Actually they have some standout awesome players, who are still warming, like Gelson, Andre Silva, Quaresma or even Bernardo Silva from Man.City (who've played a complete zero so far). Anyway, keep an eye on that strong team to come.
As for Argentina, I believe is 100% Messi, and if he's not in top shape they will struggle a bit.
As for Germany and Brazil, one way or the other, I believe they will reach quarter/semis at least.
