For me I'm not impressed by this one to be honest. Its for sure Mark, it is nice but does not a lot with me. Maybe still grows on me  ;). I have to say though, guitar wise he really shows more interresting and nice stuff on these new songs, also in this one, that is what I like also in this song as well. Not a skipper, but also not a wow yet  ;D

I’m not sure if that’s Mark doing those falsettos but you guys are probably right. Don’t wanna sound repetitive but I love this one too  ;D

JF, you nailed it! It does have that little STP flavor! That should explain why I like this album so much  8)

Am I the only one who find the "Come a’cow cow yicky yicky yea' thing ridiculous and out of place in this song?

The feeling of the song is quite sad but sounds beautiful but when the yickiyea falsetto arrives... It gets ruined for me.
You might get lucky, now and then

Agree completely. That falsetto plus the unpleasant strange way the "k" sounds in it. Also this is the most boring one so far.

I, for one, love the falsetto part. It puts a very eerie touch to the song.

As for the meaning of the phrase, my guess it's what cowboys shouted to call the cattle.

I also see Leadbelly has a song (Western Cowboy) with this phrase.

Other than that: Lighten up, folks.

Why?

Because you want?

I don't remember any rule that prevent anyone to express what they feel or think about anything related to a MK song or live show etc, but I recall very well a rule about NOT TELLING PEOPLE WHAT THEY CAN SAY.

Just saying.

It's ridiculous that is needed to remember people about this again and again. It's so simple...

The sound of that K..  In yeekee...  makes it unbearable almost to enjoy this song.. Plus it's pretty depressing and boring. Also in the running order it totally seems to be at the wrong place between Crap on the dance floor and You Never Walk Alone.

My favourites so far:
A Song At A Time 8/10
My Bacon Roll 7/10
Drover's Road 7/10
Nobody Does That 7/10

Back On The Dance Floor 4/10
Good On You Son 5/10
Trapper Man 4/10

Nobody's Child 3/10
Just A Boy 2/10
Floating Away not able to judge yet, not more than 4/10

This shows just that there is absolutely no album feel to me so far. It's a bunch of totally different songs with no relation apart that synths stuff.
Almost like a sample album..

I don't smile when someone says other "lighten up" as having different opinions are not allowed.

You keep using the word "allowed". It's not about allowing or not allowing differing opinions. I'm just addressing the party poopery going on around here. It's a new album release from one of our favorite artists, a cause for celebration, and some of you are simply stuck in a completely bleak and negative outlook on things. It really is incredible. A rotten apple ruins the barrel.

We indeed had this same discussion a while ago. It must have to do with the decade we are living in.
The PC departement was never so strong as nowadays. I would bet that 20 years ago nobody would have given a toss about being negative. Party Pooper says it actually.. hedonistic culture, life is a party, no strong opinions or different ones allowed. Very sad.

A 10 for me is not album related but generally MK/DS repertoire alike. A 10 would be TR or SAN or 5.15 am..

So you are adressing at to the right direction... because we are wrongs and you are right, isn't it?

Should we go in the direction you adress us do bleating?

We are not in a wrong direction, we are in different directions. So no need to be adressed. Just respect others opinions as we respect yours. Nobody is telling you what your opinion should be.
