"And I’ll be out of this place
And down the road wherever
There but for the grace, etcetera
I’ll see you later but it’s 1979
And I’m picking my way out of here
One song at a time"

Maybe 1979 refers to the first DS tour in the United States and album cover somewhere with the American prairies. I am thinking aloud

1979 was the last year they lived in Farrer House, Deptford. At least Mk moved at the end of 79 as can be seen in the arena documentary where he's in his new and empty house.
You might get lucky, now and then

It is true. And this fact speaks to me more. But I do not know why I thought about the first DS tour in the US:)
I know the way I can see by the moonlight
Clear as the day
Now come on woman, come follow me home

I was worried that GOYS and BOTDC set the tone for the album. I'm no longer worried.

Gonna sit in the lazy chair and sip on a good whisky tonight!
