RAH Special Guests?
« on: April 17, 2019, 01:23:25 PM »
Hello from the Netherlands
I'm going to the RAH on the 22e may. Are there some rumours about Special Guests?? (Eric Clapton)
Anyone?
Greetings

Just rumours. With Knopfler, imagination usually crashes with reality.  Imagine Clapton and Gilmour. You will get a disappointment. Just imagine "special Guests", and you´ll be happy.

In the DS glory days of the BIA tour artists were lining up to play with them but now it's more likely to be a name from the past.  Try thinking of someone he has played with before during his solo career like Joe Brown for example.

Unless a miracle I won't be there but John Illsley would be for me the best thing that could happen.
He has his way to play the bass that made these 2002 concerts to sound really unique.

Mixed feelings if having a support act shortens the main RAH show.

In my view Mark doesn't need a support act. I want to see and listen to him only when I attended his concert.
Knopfler, Oldfield and Gilmour is all the guitar I need.

I like his voice very much and Colour Me is really beautiful.

I agree, I wouldn't want him if it was at the expense of MK.

James Taylor could be a surprise act during one of the US concerts, he is free from touring while Mark is playing the states.....

Mark Knopfler and surprise it's not the words that goes together well :lol
But luckily Mark Knopfler and fantasy is a good pair, so keep fantasizing.
