In my opinion the acoustic is MK's Stefan Sobell guitar.

Thanks, this is the right one, you can notice the unusual bridge.

I also think he used a Les Paul 59. See pic from Why Aye Man

Edit: pic is misleading i think, it looks the same Les Paul on all Gibson songs

I thought so too on GH that it was a different Gibson. I really can't tell the difference between a 58 and 59 in a stagelit enviroment. The 59 is more red like in this pic but it could be the red lighting as well. So far now I'm going for the 58  ;D

I have a feeling the LP is one of his 58 re-issue (the ones who replicate his original 58). Either prototype or one from the range

I'm surprised he uses the Beard this time in stead of that iconic National Style "O" '37

I'm suprised too. Think it is because the National is a bit too heavy now for him and would wear him down if he used it on many songs every evening during this tour. It's not a succes if you ask me. The beard doesn't sit good in the mix. The national sound more in the foreground because of it's brightness, while the Beard you sometimes can hardly hear.

Do you mean the weight of the instrument or the playability? I think that it is more about playability. But then again, wouldn´t it be okay with lighter strings?

I ment actually the weight of the instrument itself, but playability could also be the reason. Or maybe both.

Anyway,  don't think a better and different sound could be the reason.

I agree - now the sound is very thin.

I think we're all in agreement with this one!  The National is one of his iconic guitars, starring on his most famous album cover and concert goers don't get to see it now.  Sad really because people had some sort of relationship with it I feel.  As soon as the light went on and reflected off it when he played the opening noted from R&J the crowd went mad.  It looked like a glitter ball during the song and sounded fantastic.  This new thing sounds just plain dull.

So R.I.P.

Maybe i will have to cut this list of guitars to the end of the tour, cause at this rate he's cutting more songs towards the end and probably will play the last show just 3 songs on the blue pensa  ;D ;D ;D
