It's still a crime that a masterpiece like Before Gas and TV was never played live.

Absolute blasphemy

A very important album for me.

I think after 10 years You Can't Beat The House should be on Privateering.
I know the way I can see by the moonlight
Clear as the day
Now come on woman, come follow me home

Although I think STP is his best, GL is the most important to me. I remember very clearly when the song Get Lucky was released and when the whole album was leaked. I had it on my phone when we were on holiday in August. For this reason I don’t put it on too often, it really touches me and brings back a lot of emotional memories. Wonderful record and amazing tour, he was really on fire the second night in Amsterdam, I still listen to the recording every now and then, superb R&J.

There is something about the tones on that album, the actual air or space. Its simply beautiful and unsurpassed by Mark since.

It's also one of his few solo albums that I can play back to back, over and over with zero skipping...

Very nice items from this album.
Boxset great with dices, poker chips etc.
Nice design on Border Reiver Promo CD.

With Shangri-La the best sounding  MK record for me. Especially drums.

His last really completely good album. Before he started to produce quantity over quality. A record very dear to me.

Yes, this album was a breath of fresh air. Before that we had Shangri-La, which is great, but extremely laidback, and then there was Kill To Get Crimson, which has a number of highlights, but which is very quiet. Too quiet for my liking. Then I heard Border Reiver for the first time. Crisp and uptempo. I hoped for more songs like that on Get Lucky, but all in all it's a very good MK solo album. So Far From the Clyde, I think, is my favorite. Reminds me a lot of Brothers in Arms.

I'm using those poker chips still everyday.
Joking aside. This could be my favourite solo record. Yeah, it sounds airy - that seems the right word....
And she's sitting in her Lusso, in the early morning sun.

I remember that originally Remembrance Day was supposed to be on the album Kill To Get Crimson.

A very dear album to me. 2008 was the year I started getting interested in MK again, after I kind of forgot about him since 1992. I woke up 2 months too late for the KYGC tour, had to wait for the GL tour - and what a tour ! Despite is back ache, Mark delivered fantastically !
And what an album ! I remember listening to Piper over and over, what a masterpiece , the album version is so good, better than live I think for once.. I loved the melancholia of before gaz and TV, the energy of Border Reiver, the power of So far from the Clyde... Only regret is that the album was only 11 songs, the other had to be fetched somehow, with stupidities like "only available on a deluxe box only available in Zimbabwe on 31st February" which I find tiring...
Anyway, yeah can't believe it has been 10 years. Wonderful memories...

I think I missed the Zimbabwe edition.  What bonus song was on that one?  Montemugabe?  So Far From the Zambezi?
