It´s been a quite morning at work so I spend some minutes (very few, actually) looking at in which theaters Neal Productions use to have their plays, and looking at their capacities, and found that the most likely theaters for Local Hero might be these:

National Theatre (has different theaters inside with various capacities)

Garrick Theatre

Harold Pinter Theatre

Let's see if it's any of these three or another one.

LOL

We are having information on it very soon, before March, can't say more about this, sorry.

Do you mean maybe later today we will have some news?

As far as I know, before this month ends, but the theatre people have their own time, so who knows if they delay the anouncement one more month  :smack

No problem. After more than a year we are used to "very soon" being delayed month after month.  ;D

Yes, but after so many time waiting for news, I hoped the waiting for news was over... today is still February, lol, who knows.

I recall when the Edinburgh shows were already announced but still working on it, that Guy kind of complained about how difficult and slow were the schedules and way of work in the theatre world in comparation with music, I guess there are difficulties like that to announce the London run and we would have to wait even more, but hey, what can we do except wait?

Guy complained that theatre schedules moved slower than they do in the world of music did he?  :o :o  I'd be aghast if they move slower than Mark and Guy do.  ::)

Not complained exactly, but kind of. He said something in that way but it wasn't a direct complaint... Imagine how that would be, if MK and him are slowly.

Actually, they recorded DTRW during the gaps of time of the musical!

A friend of mine explained me a bit of how this theatre things works, and looks there is something we didn't considered yet.

Competition.

I guess that would be something in the West End things but, theaters are pretty close one from another, and they have to compete with the others and what they have on their schedule, so quite often, theaters would announce their plays or schedule them in competition with the rest of theaters, sometime to confront, sometime to avoid that confrontation...

That might be the reason why Local Hero wasn't announced yet. When it was at the Old Vic that wasn't a big issue as that theatre is not in the West End but close to Waterloo station, and it is an independent and charity theatre, but if the musical is going to other theatre that it's on the West End circuit, or have competition close, they might be holding the announcement for the right moment.

Quite an interesting world.

Thanks for your further input.
We can all think of many reasons why one can't release specific details about the premiere performance of the musial or the album release.
However it would have been a fine move towards us fans to tell us in autumn 2021 (when it became obvious) that neither the album nor the musical will see the light of day in 2022.
That would not have left many of us disappointed for 2022 by repeating during 2021 "info coming very soon".

I still have hopes that the musical could happen in 2022. The new Mk record won't be out until 2023, Guy himself said it makes sense 2023 for that release, and probably the recording, mixing etc would be done around May-June, so that makes me think they have something on their agenda for the rest of 2022, and that could be end the recordings for the Local Hero musical cd (they had recorded already some of the actors singing their songs, like Damian Humbley "Rocks and water") on time for a hopefully autumm-winter 2022 season!

Just trying to be positive.

Finally some news!
The question is whether no London at all or London in 2023?

Considering this is for October-November 2022, and Local Hero in London probably will run for two or more months, I guess that would be in 2023.

Since the CFT has a section on its site called "CFT IN LONDON AND ON TOUR" it could well be that they transfer it to London in 2023.
