I'd recommend Jack's new podcast.

A random selection of guests and topics but entertaining, Jack is a great host.

This was a good listen, Jack’s a great strotyteller! However, I think this thread should be under Mark Knopfler Discussion Forum topic.

There are other chapters talking about his gigs in South America with DS Legacy, are they interesting, if any of you listened to them?

They look short, maybe if I have a gap during the morning I will check them.

Well, he’s planning on doing an episode with Alan and Phil. You can also listen this podcast on Spotify:

I've listened to every episode, it's not always about music but I've always found it entertaining.

The DS Legacy eps were very short, seemed like filler while he was away on tour.

Disagree, this thread is about Jack's podcast and most episodes make no reference to DS or MK. :)

2nd part of his DS story is up.

Warning, it's pretty devastating...

Yes, pretty. I never understood how MK behaved with him. So dissapointed that a friend does this to you.

It's like setting me up lyrics...

I don't see the problem. Jack is/was responsible for his own dreams and career. I think Mark inviting him to play with DS opened up many chances and possibilities. Still, it sounds like he just waited until something happened out of the blue by just being at some place (which rarely happens), thinking people were waiting in line to work with him, instead of proactively seeking and chasing opportunities. Mark was already ten steps ahead and moved on. He never wants to live somebody else's dream. With a bit of people skills, Jack should have known Mark was never going to spend a lot of time helping or even starting a new guitar-centric band with him.

And then one other thing. If you're the only member in DS having enough time to see things in the audience that the others don't see, you are way too busy with being a rockstar. Sure they were huge then, but playing MK's music requires an tremendous focus. For MK it's all about the music, and I think he saw very early on Jack had other interests.

I agree with you
and I don't appreciate people talking about personal things in public when it involves someone who can't tell their side of the story

Actually MK told Jack about many projects to work with him in the future, and then, nothing, like he doesn't exists.

It amazes me how, whatever MK does, doesn't matter how wrong it is, he is always the one who is right. And the rest are the ones to blame.

Amazing.
