Sailing To Philadelphia 25th anniversary
« on: July 22, 2025, 10:48:53 AM »
Just for info, I received this morning a mail from my contact at Universal France about a release of STP on 26th september

its says : "Mark Knopfler's second album is reissued on transparent vinyl for the first time on the occasion of its 25th anniversary."

the track listing is the standard one with only 13 tracks : One more matinee, but no Do America

so, I'm afraid there will be no additionnal stuff...

I hope I'm wrong...

Are they trying to squish is down to one record? That will sound pretty horrible.

Well, that's what we were used to, before someone got crazy and released the latest boxes... but makes sense they don't offer anything but resell the same under different wraps.

I also hope you are wrong.

Thanks for the information.

I guess that would be it, if there would be something else, probably your contact would know.

After being released in the studio box, the fact that it has a transparent vinyl is not enough for me, and as a 25th anniversary is too little. But I guess some of you would be happy with it.

Yes, that's what I thought too. That's why I'm not optimistic.

It would be a big missing opportunity, indeed.

Thanks. Makes no sense to not have Do America then.

Remember that Guy is involved in the project.

This is only a part of the plan.

I am still a little bit optimistic that Universal will put out some previously unreleased live stuff other than Dire Straits, I mean solo and NHB.
