Ha, to be honest I was reasonably subdued that night, just sitting back and enjoying the show. My car broke down en route and I almost didn't make it at all, so I was pleased just to be there. :)

I remember that. I was just kidding of course. i like the vibe of the Glasgow recording very much. Mark uses some strong dialect at one or two occasions and the special guest is of course giving very much to the show. Great show.

Finally got round to listening to Glasgow today. As always need to add the caveat that I haven't heard all the Simfy shows, and maybe I'm listening through rose-tinted headphones because I was there, but could this be the best Simfy show?

Great quality recording (you can almost hear Richard's power chords in Speedway and the flute is mixed down.
Great set, one of the longest, of the European leg anyway?
Special guest Phil Cunningham.
You can tell that MK is just really enjoying himself. He's very chatty. How often after Sultans does he comment on how much fun it is playing the old songs?

Anyway, if you don't have it it's a must buy IMO.

My favourite of the nine I have is Manchester.   In Speedway, the flute is not so obvious and I really love the versions of Coyote, Get Lucky, Marbletown and TR, but I think the RAH is pretty good too - maybe the sound is not so good as the other UK ones though.    In fact I love all of my UK shows, especially the ones I attended.  :P

I think it makes a difference to how you feel about a particular concert when you were actually there.   At the Bournemouth concert a group of us from AMIT - Pottel, Ingrid, Marky and myself were singing and swaying together right in front of MK during SFA and on the recording I can hear MK say "Yeah, that's nice" - I hope he meant it for us, I like to think so anyway!   ;D   Bournemouth was very special.   :P

Now that it looks unlikely we will get the Dublin show, I intend to download Glasgow, as there have been quite a few recommendations.   :)

I downloaded the Glasgow concert today and have just finished listening to it.   It is, indeed, an excellent concert with great sound and performance too!   It has now taken its place alongside my other favourites!    :)

You can download some soundboard shows from this site:

http://www.markknopflermusic.com/2009/06/fila-forum-milan-italy-10th-june-2005.html

Technically as these were sold this would be breach of copyright, but they are no longer available to buy so I guess it's kind of a grey area...
