Hmm, looks odd with that pickguard. The wood on the headstock looks too light as well but I guess that's just lighting.

The  headstock & case lining both seem to lack some depth or colour saturation. That'll just be the photos.
The pickguard has gone the same nasty "milky coffee" colour as mine - It's been left out of it's case in bright daylight for too long.

I find sad to be forced to keep your guitars in their case juste to keep their color
I like to "expose" my guitars in my living room
the white pickguard on the red strat is from 1991, a Hondo copy, the pic is tken just now and the guitar has been quite a lot exposed to dailylight since 30 years, and the colour didn't change that much

why do they use such a "delicate" plastic on a signature model that you can't use it "normally" ?

Sorry for the delay in spotting this reply & responding.

It must just be down to the type of plastics they use particularly in the "mint green"  - I have a late 80's Japanese Fender Strat with a non-laminated pick guard and after all these years being out on a rack, the colour has just aged slightly (the pick up covers & knobs have gone cream in the same period.

Here are shots of both guitars taken some years ago - the MK strat pick guard is darker now

Interesting. Can't say I've noticed any significant change on mine, but it lives in the case most of the time.

I suppose it's a standard Fender pickguard so it shouldn't be difficult to replace if it went discoloured?

@Knopflerfan : Sure! Sorry for the delay I spent more time on the Strat than on the screen  ;D

She's gorgeous and sounds great. She is in good condition for a guitar that is now 20 years old.

Have you guys checked the neck angles of your sig Strats? Mine seems to be a bit too low and might need a shim. This is visible by measurements, but also by simply checking how far the screws of the trem saddles stick out.
