Actually, I had problems burning to TDK media on my old burner. This is going back about 3 years though

Hi,
If I was going to save DVD on harddrives I would make some .iso files.
You make those with NERO.
An ISO is a "mirror" of the DVD. Packaged in one single file.

(ISO files can also be mounted as "virtual drives" with for example Deamon Tool.
- that way you can have 4 .iso files / DVD
Cheers Peter

someone said: the right question is not: "what can I do if my HD will break?" but "what can I do when my HD will break?" The thought that all my "treasures" are stored in a unique 3,5" HD....And so, let's go with hundreds of DVD+R (Verbatim or TDK), each one in double copy (3 copies for the pro-shot DVDs  ;D) I know too that cd and dvd maybe are not eternal, but.....unfortunately I'm not too  :P

no need for normal dvd's
use Blue ray (soon) or Double layer, as i do now. saves you 50% of the space
any Knopfler, Floyd or Dylan will do....

too much expensive. and then I prefer to split than to concentrate. I need more space but the risk of a "catastrophe" is minor

1 DVD Dual Layer 8,5 GB Verbatim: 1,5 euro
1 DVD+R Verbatim 4,7 GB = 25 cents. with 1,5 euro I'll have about 25 GB

about the "catastrophe"  ;D, I have a son 4 years old. he likes very much the shiny of the DVDs. I prefer he plays (destroy) with a DVD with 6-7 concerts (in flac format) than with a Blue-Ray with 50 gb of dates  ;D
