About pushing him... maybe with this kind of musicians MK is more open to be pushed because as proffesional they are, they would only push him if it´s needed, so probably MK will accept it, but when in a band where everybody think they have a say, pusing would be more frequently and could generate some conflicts. With his actual band, they know what that their duty is to play for the artist, so they will only suggest something when they have to, or are asked to...

That´s the reason why most of the artists that were succesful in a band go solo, and that's why makes me wonder why, if they kind of knew they wanted to be the leaders, they started a band instead or started a individual career with a bunch of musicians.
You might get lucky, now and then

Maybe he not want, but should.

That's why he is not in a band anymore, but a solo artist with well paid musicians that will do what he wants, wether they like it or not, they are not paid to like it, but to play it  ;)

Yes. You don't make bite to hand that give food to you.

I think Mark felt under pressure as leader of DS and that is what made him practice so hard;  he didn't want to let anyone down.  As a solo artist psychologically it was different.  He now has his own band and they very much answer to him so he's in his nice comfort zone and doesn't feel like he is under the same pressure any more.

Although the musicians he has chosen are top notch, they are The Dullards and will only push him as far as he wants to go.  I think he felt the larger fanbase made him feel he had to practice more too.  He said this at the start of the BIA tour on The Tube interview.
"I'm playing all the right notes, but not necessarily in the right order."

Yes. You don't make bite to hand that give food to you.

This is by no means the only reason.
I like to keep an eye on Glenn when he catches Mark's casual glance and immediately starts to exude approval and emotional warmth in response.
It's worth a lot, believe me. Such cordiality can neither be bought nor sold.
The importance of good relations must never be underestimated.

Well, the topic should write, "while we were waiting for a new MK album".  :wave
Come on, it is not funny anymore.

Guy yesterday: Mark and I have been hard at it in BG but once again, I am forbidden from divulging any information at this point. I can say that it is exciting, and different.
It's the end of a perfect day..,.

Ok "different" though should confirm then that it is not just a "regular" new album. Maybe they re-play old DS classics for a Jubilee Box next year. That would be something. But that's just dreaming.

That would be nice, but still... I'd rather have new songs :)

Maybe he is making a duo-album with Ruth?

At last, playing with drum machines, samples and loops. His first electronic, ambient album. Waiting in vain.
Come on, it is not funny anymore.

Different album might be just a normal album. However, my bet is a duet album or some kind of tribute album.
