When Guy is asked about this he always answers they don't know yet... Strange as touring needs lots of booking specially venues, with anticipation.

Agreed, point taken but Guy is not allowed to say anything about a new tour so even if he would know they will go on tour or not his answer will always be mysterious

But i do recall him saying at the end of 2016 when he was asked about touring in 2017 that they would spend a lot of time in the studio. So not much touring and Richard B was also very clear about that.

Perhaps with all the media attention on the Hall of Fame induction they will announce tourdates somewhere in April for a tour to start sept/okt in the US. It will surely give the ticketsales a boost.

Actually 26.01. If the album will be released after the holidays, maybe in a few days it will be a tour of the US.

Tickets for Norway for Tracker and Privateering was on sale in September/October for concerts in June/July. I don't expect any summer tour in Europe this year, and I wish they could just say "no tour this year" instead of this forever waiting and waiting and waiting. What's the point??! Do they realize that people often need to plan days off work, travelling, plane tickets and hotels beforehand? And I still don't get the surprise element in the secret project. Any film, theatre, concert and musical (god forbid) is announced well ahead. So what's so secret??

I reluctantly agree with you regarding the tour.  I keep kidding myself it'll be different this time and a tour will happen, however deep down I know it won't.  In time honoured fashion we shall be ordering our tickets about a year in advance for a Mark Knopfler concert!

We also are getting to the point where this secret project will never deliver on the hype, no matter what it is!

The announcement of another band session now in January together with "completion" in March means that we cannot expect the album before August/September.. even when mixing and coming would be done by then, which I doubt, the distribution and PR part starts and takes it's time - usually some months.  I totally go for the usual September/October release date and think the same about tour dates as jbaent, starting off in the US this time in autumn 2018 and come to Europe when season 8 of Game of Thrones starts which is just a little trick to see if you really read my post until the end ...
