The album will be ready in March, but also mixing, cover and etc. Under good circumstances, the album could be released before July.

All I can say is that it was totally bulls**t to release the Album in September and then start the Tour in late April the next year.
The Gap was too big.
The Tracker schedule was way better than that.
Touring directly after Album release is strategically better imho.
So I hope he does USA this year and starts in Europe next... yeah : April, cannot Imagine a european tour in Feb or March.
Maybe he finally adds Australia in that period. Makes sense and is long overdue

Guy comfirmed they will be finishing the new MK album in march. So september release is very possible. Could this indeed mean they will tour after the release :think :think :think

Or he tours south America in January/February. It's summer in most countries...

Our friends from South America only had a chance to see MK once in their life, in 2001... They need another one!

As a Brazilian citizen I can confirm that if you generalize we are loud and rowdy but people who are willing to pay a large amount of money to see an artist like Mark Knopfler tend to be very different from the average Brazilian. The problem here is the longer it takes the more anxious and excited we get, and the more anxious and excited... the louder lol

But don't worry, if Mark comes to South America we'll make sure he feels at home.

I know. And I absolutely understand you. But every Music Artist must enjoy to play such an enthusiastic audience.
I visited 2 venues MK played 2001. Buenos Aires Luna Park and I also stood on the stage of Montevideo's Teatro de Verano.
Wished I could attend the shows with such a great audience

I went to the Rio gig and it was truly indescribable but I don't think Mark would cause the same impact on the audience now. People would probably moan about the lack of DS songs. Brazil went through a very severe miseducation process over the last 15 days, especially here in Rio. The population is more and more uneducated and averse to law and order, and culture standards have hit rock bottom. But I truly hope that if Mark does visit us again we can gather at least 10.000 people with good taste in music and decent manners to appreciate the man lol

I don't mind them as long as it's just a couple of songs.
