"Just wish we could hear Mark singing these tunes..

I will be on two or maybe three MK concerts, I think I will not see a musical but I dream about it.

So jealous of you guys who managed to grab the audience recording before it got taken off line. I will be patiently waiting for the rumoured official cast recording, hopefully this will be released before Christmas 2020.

I caught 2 thoroughly enjoyable shows in Edinburgh and will definitely catch a couple more when the show rolls up at the Old Vic next year.

Delighted to say I went to the musical on Saturday 13th; it was superb! Funny, evocative, tear inducing, clever and dramatic. The scenes were set superbly, you always knew where the characters were and the way the story evolved was fantastic.
I’ve now ordered the film DVD (remember those?!)
Wondering if I can get to Edinburgh again in the next couple of weeks ... doubtful but I’ll definitely go again to The Old Vic!

So glad you enjoyed the show pigster. I hope you do get your wish to go again.

As I mentioned my wife and I caught 2 shows last week. Originally we booked tickets for Thursday 18th, not realising it was the Easter weekend and when we got round to looking at flights and hotels the prices were about double than the week before, so we opted to cut our losses and booked tickets for the 9th and 10th, managing to get a refund for the 18th at the box office.

We enjoyed the performances so much that we regretted handing back the tickets for the 18th as we too would have loved to see the show again. Still June 2020 is not so far away (and there is the little matter of the MK tour coming shortly).

Best regards

Here's a swing at the Act 2 song "Ideal World"

In an ideal world
I could do what you do
Run this place, keep it nice
A little business advice
Wear my deal maker's hat
And then, this and that

You could take my car
And buy it brand new
In and ideal world
I can see me as you

And in this ideal world
I can see you as me too
Paying attention to things
Whatever life bring
You over ther
With your know how and flair

If we could only swap places
Swap our jobs
And swap faces
You could have my apartment
I could head your department
You'd be running the whole damn show
It's Head of Acquisitions, you know
That's my position and so
You have my permission to go

Which brings me to
You know who
Maybe I could love her
Maybe she could love me Too
In an ideal world
I could do what you do
And she'd be my girl
In and ideal world

Best regards

Great! That song is very funny on stage, those who attended will remember the tango dance and laugh again thinking about it!

GF:
There will be a cast album for Local Hero at some point but of course, everything shifted after it was delayed at the Old Vic. There won’t be anything pre-Chichester as there simply isn’t the time. That will all happen later should the musical move forward, which we all hope it will.

Again, thanks to jbaent for the important question:)

Yesterday I woke up singing in my head some melodies from the Local Hero musical and decided to post something on Guy's forum...

QUESTION:Hello Doc. I was thinking today about the Local Hero musical and that we didn’t listened anything about it again. We know you can tell you much about it but, can we expect to see it again, hopefully in London and having the official release of the music in the end, or did it came to an end?

ANSWERThe run in Chichester came to a close but the show will live on I’m sure. There are plans afoot.

I checked the Royal Shakespeare Company website, as Daniel Evans started to work there last month and seems they already have a schedule for London for what remains of 2023, with "Matilda" running up to May 2024 (probably will extend as it already happened), "My neighbour Totoro" until March 2024, same happens with Matilda so it might be extended and a new one titled "Hamnet" until January 2024, so I guess until 2024 Local Hero won't have any chance.

If there are plans afoot, I bet there would be a chance maybe between March and May 2024... I hope so. I had seen it twice already (Edinburgh and Chichester) so the chance to see it again in London is really more related to have a proper release of the music on CD that seeing it again (that I will...).

What a wonderful post!  :)
I would love to see it again, too.
As with the cast album and the new solo album, patience is key  ;)
