Actually MK told Jack about many projects to work with him in the future, and then, nothing, like he doesn't exists.

It amazes me how, whatever MK does, doesn't matter how wrong it is, he is always the one who is right. And the rest are the ones to blame.

Amazing.

Not always! I'm pretty sure even MK gets bullied or ignored by somebody, we just never heard about it.
It's normal behaviour to me, people get closer and part ways all the time, no reasons needed.
I sometimes find myself ignoring certain people and can't help it. That's life!

Nobody owes Jack a living but, at least in the way jack tells it, MK was basically his best buddy for a while, got his hopes up by saying they would continue to work together professionally, and then "ghosted" him, to use modern parlance. And that was a pretty shitty thing to do.

Although to be fair to MK, and Jack doesn't say this in his latest podcast, presumably for dramatic effect, MK did in fact invite Jack back to play what was probably the biggest gig DS ever did, the Mandela show. Jack couldn't make it, for absolutely the right reasons, but even then MK gave Jack a shout out in front of an audience of billions or whatever!

So two sides to the story I guess...

I asked Jack once about the Mandela show, and he told me he never got a call to play that gig. That last time he heard about Mk was that time in LA he tells in the podcast.

I have a memory of Jack saying in one of these interviews that he was invited but he said he couldn't make it because his twins were due. (The invite came from management, not MK personally).

Maybe he meant he wasn't called by MK, and that's why Jack always says the last time he knew about MK was that day on LA.

I totally understand Jack dissapoinment, when he was told by his friend that they would have some projects and then being "ghosted", is not that you are losing a job, is that you are losing a friend, because job, he got more jobs, as far as I know, he went to work on Line6 amps.

Jack just answered me on FB, management called him:

Quote
They did. Hadn't heard from them in close to two years before that phone call. No need to go into the details of that ridiculous exchange. I wasn't available to do the gig because as I said at the time, "I know Nelson Mandela is a very good man but I'm not going to miss the birth of my twin daughters for anyone. I'm sure he'll understand."

In the first place, could looks nice that they called him for the Mandela gig, but this sentence:

"No need to go into the details of that ridiculous exchange"

Makes me think it wasn't that nice, maybe it was something formal and he detected wasn't a honest request, or was still hurted by the way MK treated him before that, and already move on on his mind.

Of course being a dad very recently makes it a good excuse to say no, but I guess he would had said no anyway, specially by what he said about that call from management.
