August 04, 1996: The Bug
July 24, 1999: Water of Love
December 7, 2000: Fade To Black
July 31, 2001: Calling Elvis
July 28, 2002: Setting Me Up
September 09, 2009: Why Worry
July 01, 2019: SFA (?)
September 25, 2019: MFN, R&J, OES, YLT, OUATITW (who would have thought!)

Didn't WOL get played at some private gig, years after the SL-tour?

Hmm, Deutsch Bank or something?

Didn’t they do a corporate for Range Rover prior to the 2013 tour?

The Range Rover 'Gig' was 06/09/2012

That Range Rover set list always winds me up.  Corporate guests get to hear the hits but paying fans were kind of made to feel rude at for asking for them. "Mark only looks forward" except when a massive cheque or bank is involved.  Rant over

Without exaggeration. We have heard these songs at concerts a million times. Do you remember the concert at Boothay Harbor? It was a concert of surprises!

I am inclined to agree. But I guess that if you’re able to hire Mark for a corporate then to your mind you’re hiring Dire Straits. From Mark’s POV there has to be a difference between playing a song once to please your crowd and playing it 80 times on tour.

put it all into a spreadsheet.
if there is interest to continue work on it
arranged it by "record, song, first date, first location, last date, last location"
a while back i made an overview of all songs (known about) played live during DS concerts (cannot remember if i did MK as well)
and that may help adding the "first time" (but also to identify other "last time" cases)
any Knopfler, Floyd or Dylan will do....

I would love to have a compilation of early DS songs played by Mark on his later tours.

Wouldn't be a huge compilation! I guess depend what you are calling "early"

Sultans
Water of Love
Portobello Belle
Once Upon a Time In The West

Romeo & Juliet if Making Movies is still early...

I consider the first two Dire Straits albums with the original four-man lineup to be the 'early' era. Chronologically I can understand the case for including Making Movies in this era, but musically I think both the album and subsequent tour show a clear shift towards longer songs and increased use of keyboards. These trends became even more apparent in the Love Over Gold era, which I definitely do not consider as part of the early phase, not least because the bulk of the setlist consisted of songs from the two more recent albums with only a few surviving representatives from the debut and Communique.
I got shot off my horse, so what I'm up again...

I like that point of view.

Yes, a compilation of all DS songs Mark played on his solo tours would be great. But I guess this will never happen.  :(
