I used to "hover" roundabout 30 cm over my bed when I used to listen to the then new CD versions from Your Latest Trick until the end of The Man's Too Strong back in the early 90's and was very close to fall asleep and was in a dreamy state that got interrupted by the start of One World every single time which made me fall back onto the bed again...  :lol

I occasionally still use Ride Across The River as the last song of the day before falling asleep. Funny you brought this up. Never saw this thread before.

Don't you think the crickets at the end of RATR sound like giant bed bugs though?  :think

Anyone ever just tried counting sheep?  That's why I always have flock wallpaper in my bedroom.  ;)

There are several songs about counting sheep, too! Yan, tan, tethera... snooze.
And there's even a whole opera called "counting sheep". If that doesn't help, you can always try the cannabis... :lol

I had a Spotify playlist with instrumentals from MK film scores that I used to play to my baby daughter to sleep her, and it worked well always.

That bootleg always gets me!  I'm sure it was a deliberate error.

By the way: I think it's amazing that MK himself used to fall asleep PLAYING his own music. That should definitely put it at the top of any playlist.  :lol

I still can't understand how that can happen, but MK said that Chet used to fall asleep playing as well. What about the guitarists amongst you: have you ever fallen asleep while playing? I don't think it can happen to drummers or piano players because they can't play their instruments lying on a sofa.

I often use the guitar without an amp to help me fall asleep, as I play freely until I start to daydream. When I realize it, all I want to do is go to bed and sleep. It's very similar to reading a book, you move your mental energy and this can somehow hypnotize, relax and lead to sleep, it always depends on the circumstances. 🥱
Let's go down to the waterline!

Apologies.  I thought you were referring to the infamous bootleg Swinging Golden Hearts that referred to the song Cannibals as Cannabis by 'mistake'.  ;D

ROTFL! No, I wasn't aware of that mistake. I have that bootleg, but it's never really been my, um, pot of tea.  :

EDIT: I checked my copy of "Swinging Golden Hearts" today. It says cannibals, not cannabis. Maybe you have a special edition ;-)

Yea!! I have fallen asleep lying on my back playing ukulele. Easier to lie down and play than a guitar. I didn’t mean to fall asleep but I remember waking up feeling proud…..good enough for MK and Chet, good enough for me.
