My idea of heaven is a place where the Tyne meets the Delta, where folk music meets the blues.

Uncomfortable talking about his brother, and quite evasive at times....

The interview is too short and too soft for a HARD talk. Hard talk with Mark apparently means 1 little question about David, 1 little question about Dire Straits reunion and 1 little question about money. Man, it's so hard! What made me sad is that Mark said "she was" about his mother so all the rumours about his family are seems to be true.

Yes, I noticed that he spoke about his mother in the past tense, so she must have died in the last two years or so.   Also, when asked if he and David were friendly, he said they weren't, or words to that effect - yes, he was evasive and sounded awkward.   When talking about the sale of a part of DS back catalogue to an investment company, he said they were sold by an ex-manager of DS (Ed?).   He said he was appalled and that it wasn't his style.

I enjoyed the interview and a video would be nice.   :)

I can imagine Mark being pissed off about everybody behaving not the way he would want them to. David Knopfler wanting to play with him again, John Illsley being open about Dire Straits reunion, his ex-manager selling his Dire Straits share in a pretty harsh fashion, don't even start talking about all the tribute guys. The only guy who's doing alright is Guy Fletcher and no wonder he works with Mark for 40 years straight. Just do what MK wants and that's it :lol

Nothing new really, but I still think it was a good interview. It was "hard", but respectfully so. Any "harder" would have been embarrassing, quite frankly.

Still saddens me to hear about Mark and David. They're just too good and decent guys to not reconciliate. Really sad.

Yeah, but you can't have everything you want in life, even when you are a multi-millionaire.  He's made a lot of enemies along the way and now it's catching up with him and all the money he's made isn't going to fix it.

Very good 'Hardish' interview, just find it very sad personally he doesn't contact his brother and it didn't seem to phase him when the question was asked - a casualty of the business.....
But it does beg the question of Money over family... :disbelief

Finally he actually agrees he was trapped in DS and that by going solo he can now do what he wants musically and thats also evident that he's moved on from that......

So love to see a video of this....

Sounds like a rather uneasy interview for him.  Beggars belief why he chose to do it really.

He should've answered the questions like Reggie Perrin did on Pillock Talk! LOL

It seems it was a really hard interview for Mark.  And if the interviewer asked something about RRHOF issue, it would be even harder.

And I hope the Michael Ball Show in two days will be much easier for Mark, and maybe some live songs?  I know it's almost around Christmas time and that means family time. By far, he only appears in London UK and Cesena Italy for his new album and tour.  Wish he could do more.
