I am certainly hopeful.  I'll bet Mark has been beavering away during lockdown and has lots to show for it! :P

I hope so!    Some new songs would be wonderful.    :P

And some new milestones to be made.  ;)

 You never know!    ;D

Pretty sure there will be a new MK album in 2021. After "My Bacon Roll" in 2018, I expect "Shepherd's Pie" or "Fried Chicken" to be the best songs of the new album.

with the last album he wrote 'new MK album coming soon' and it took 2 years

When you're in your 8th decade "soon" becomes a longer timescale!  :lol

I wonder how many songs Mark wrote in lockdown? :think

I remember after the accident Mark wrote clearly one of the best albums he ever wrote, Shangri-La. Restrictions, either natural or voluntary seems to inspire him a lot, so I hope for the best.

Very true. That was a masterpiece after his accident

Pretty obvious he talks about the Musical stuff? Wasn't another bunch of recordings announced  for that? So I would keep my expectations very low.

That Musical shit would be really an asskicker. Waste of time if you ask me

Maybe it is the errant track that never made it on to Down the Road Wherever - Back in the Day? Early Xmas present for us all! That's my guess!

I agree, because the musical takes a lot of Mark's time, but at the same time:

— You have to live in the UK to see it or travel there and that's tough for 80% of foreign fans
— You have to be fluent in English in order to see it, which is tough for 80% of foreign fans
— You have to happen to love musicals which is tough for 80% of fans regardless

All in all, a pretty local (no pun intended) project takes like the whole time and in the result a few people will actually see it. Great!

I disagree in some points:

- It's not a waste of time as MK created some great songs for it, I can tell you.
- I'm not fluent in English and Ididn't had problems understanding the play
- I don't love musicals but most of the songs that MK created for the musical were amazing, heartbreaking...

It's true that you have to travel to see it but, many fans travel to attend MK concerts, they can also travel to listen live to new MK songs created specifically for the musical.

In fact, it's what I did last tour, traveled in March to Edinburgh for the musical, April I travelled to most of the Spanish shows, May to the RAh, June to Atwerpen and Amsterdam and July to Verona.

You might get lucky, now and then

simply not a musical fan myself, so not even for MK will i shell out my hard earned euros.
hoping for new material, not rehashed old stuff.
unless that rehashed old stuff includes demo's abd unreleased stuff, lol
any Knopfler, Floyd or Dylan will do....

I enjoyed the musical very much and the songs were beautiful. Hopefully, there will be a CD of the show, but I'm also looking forward to a new MK album in the not too distant future!   :P

I'm not a musical fan either and if it hadn't been literally 25 mins along the road I wouldn't have bothered.  I was so glad I did that I went again!

The songs are great and will be appreciated most for those who attended the show. Although I will look forward to their release it would be a disappointment if this was what GF was referring to.

Of course you are right. The songs MK wrote for LH Musical are beautiful for sure. Did not listen to them yet but I believe it.
But I think it is no comparison to travel for a musical without MK and Band or to see them live in some nice spanish cities and cool bullrings with
electrifying atmosphere.
And: MK gets older fast. Get on another tour instead of writing a musical. Better write another solo album.
Just my opinion

Do you think the CD could be with the cast singing or Mark? We actually got one song from Local Hero Musical, but from recordings I've heard, it gave me the impression that not every song could be done by MK.
